Day 35: Two point perspective

Two point perspective detail

After one point perspective comes “two point perspective”.

Instead of having one vanishing point in the drawing like we did in Day 34 this time we have two. And rather than the vanishing points being in the drawing area this time they are at either side of the paper, just outside the image.

We can then use the elastic by stretching it over the paper and using it as a guide for our drawing.

The straight line between the two vanishing points is called the “eye level”.

If you draw a person with  his eyes at eye level they will be an adult sized person wherever they are in a drawing.

But what if you want them on the roof? Draw them faintly at ground level and then use the measurements to draw them on the roof.
